Your Reflections
Write your reflections on your experience
I encounter difficulties  in finding relevant source of information and it consume much of my time because I've did not prepare it earlier before . Regarding  with the topic  it cannot be open  sometimes and I have to find another website.

How did you find the task of surfing the net relevant in generating more information for your support materials to the topic?

I generate all the website that I've visit  and choose the most reliable source of information.

INSIGHTS
Imagine how schools located in communities without internet facilities cope with this need.

If the school don't  have internet facilities they  are very behind for the learning since almost of the information that they need can be found in the net  and there discussion  become limited since their resource are also limited.

  • charts

YOUR ANALYSIS

Why is there a need to make a survey of available materials before making your own materials?

1. To collect information from a part of a group or community, without trying to choose them for overall representation of the larger population. I  need to conduct several of these before  I get  a sense of how the I I can make my own materials.

2..This will give me the most accurate information and these will be my basis on making my own materials.
3. If the materials that I observe are effective I can apply it  in making my own materials if it is not effective I will create my own strategy in improving or I will change the instructional materials that I've seen in  making my own materials.

YOUR REFLECTIONS

What materials did you like most?why?

Hand outs and Books because  in using this materials the teacher can easily discuss her lessons. The students will not only imagine the words that  the teacher discuss to them  with the help of this materials they can gasp the information with reading the content of the book and handouts together with listening the teacher discussion and also the students can fully understand the  the topic if they will asked questions and clarifications.

What difficulties did you encounter in making the materials?

Finding specific  topic  for the content of the  materials, it takes time to encode the details of the topic, I need also to put  brief  details so that  content of the topic will not consume  too much pages.

How did you overcome it?

I make it sure that the materials that I made is already prepared a week before  I will be using it.

Make suggestions to the teachers in the preparation of teaching materials.

In preparing  the material like handouts it should be prepare earlier before  it will be use in the discussion to avoid problems and the content of the hand out should be brief  so that it can't consume to much money.

                                              DECIMALS

Decimal  means based on 10 ( from latin decima means a tenth part) but a decimal number usully means there is a decimal point.

         14.295

1 is the tens
4 is units
. decimal point
2 is the 1/10( tenths)
9 is the 1/100 (Hundredths)
5 is the 1/1000( Thousandths)

Note: The digit to the left of the decimal point is a whole number ,4 for example.

As we move further  to the left, every digit place get 10 times  bigger..

As we move further right, every digit   place gets 10 times smaller.

All rational numbers can be written as either terminating or repeating.

           TERMINATING DECIMAL AS  A FRACTION

a. 0.8 =8/10              Read as 8- tenths
b.0.25=25/100           Read as 25 -hundreths

                  REPEATING DECIMAL AS FRACTION

 a.Write 0.333... as a fraction
Solution
x = 3.333...                          let x represent the number.
10x   =   3.333..                  Multiply  by 10 because 1 digits repeats.
   -x   =  0.333..
_____________                 Subtract to eliminate repeating decimal.
9X    = 3

    X=1/3

           ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION OF DECIMALS

ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION OF DECIMALS

To add or subtract  decimals:

i.If it is necessary, write the numerals in co column so that the decimal points are directly under each other.Zeros may be annexed to the numerals naming decimal fractions so that the addends may have the same number of decimal.

Ex. For addition                                                                                                     Ex. For subtraction

i.) 0.39 + 4.6                                                                                i. ) 8.4 - 2.76

     0.39                                                                                            8.40
+  4.6                                                                                            -  2.76
________                                                                               ___________

ii.) Add or subtract as in the addition of whole numbers.

ii.)                                                                                              ii.)
      0.39                                                                                           8.40
   + 4.6                                                                                       -     2.76
________                                                                          ___________
      4 99                                                                                           5 64

iii.) Place the decimal point in the sum or difference directly under the decimal points in the addends or subtrahend and minuend.

iii.)                                                                                              iii.)

    0.39                                                                                                 8.40
+  4.6                                                                                                -  2.76
______                                                                                          _________
   4.99                                                                                                  5.64

          MULTIPLICATION  AND DIVISION OF DECIMALS

MULTIPLICATION OF DECIMALS

To multiply decimals:

1.Write the given numerals in column and multiply as in the multiplication of whole numbers. The decimal places point in the multiplier does not necessarily have to be unde the decimal point in he multiplicand.

2.Find the total number of decimal places  in the factors and point off  in the product, counting from, right to left, as many decimal places as there are in the factors.

  0.8  --------- 2 decimal places
   x 2.4  -----------1 decimal place
_______
        332
      166
   _____
      1.992 --------- 3 decimal place

3.  When the product contains fewer figures/digits than the required number of deimal places, prefix as many zeros as are necessary.

   0.25   --------------2 decimals places
x 0.03   --------------2 decimal places
0.0075 ---------------4 decimal places

 DIVISION OF DECIMALS

To divide decimals:

1.If the  divisor is a whole number,

a.divide as an division of whole numbers.
  b. place the decimal point in the quotient directly above the decimal point in the dividend.

Ex

          2.9
  5  | 14.5
         10
         45
         45
         0

2.If the divisor is a decimal,

a. make the divisor a whole number by multiplying it by a power of 10 or by simply moving the decimal point to the right of the last figure.
b. move the decimal point  to the right as many places as you moved the decimal point in the divisor.

      ____                      _____
0.4 | 9.2   --------------4|  92

c.divide as in the division of whole numbers and place the decimal point in the quotient directly above the new place of the decimal point in the dividend.

        23_
  4  | 92
        8__
        12
        12
d. when the dividend contains fewer decimal places than required, annex as many zeros as are necessary to a decimal dividend.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES:

SEATWORK

a. Express the following decimals as fractions in simplest form.

1. 0.7
2. 0.05
3.9.18
4.0.8333....

b.Perform the following  operations.

1.0.56 + 6.449
2. 12 - 8.29
3. 19.2 x 23.06
4.8.75 ÷ 0.42

ASSESSMENT PLAN

After the discussion I will give activities  like seat works  to know if they understand    the topic  and if the result of the quizzes are low I will give more examples so that the students will fully understand the it.

TOOLS
In the presentation, describe how the tool was used in a particular lesson/time.

The lesson is appropriate for   2 hours   it will cope up the topic of decimal numbers it could not be done without  visual aid.The discussion will begin in discussing on how to add, subtract, multiply  and divide decimal numbers.

YOUR ANALYSIS

Which feature of the hand-out is not effective?

There are no feature of the handout that is not effective since  every content are pacific for the topic.

What measured by assessment plan?Is it process or product?

It measure the student understanding therefore  it is a product since I discuss the topic  to them, give material and specific example with the assessment.

YOUR REFLECTION

Recall any difficulties encountered in making hand-outs?How did you overcome them?
]
It is difficult to find a topic and summarize all the data and to find specific learning materials. It is also difficult to make learning  materials for the topic. It is also difficult to make learning materials if there is no learning resources.
I try to find a way to overcome that difficulties I plan the activities in an earlier time so that I can fixed  unexpected problems in my presentation.

The photo above is a church name Eco church located at kauswagan. In  that church I spent almost eight days to celebrate the four thirty am mass

I stayed at my aunties house Christmas until new year because I don't have any chance to go home since it is too far from here Cagayan de oro even through I didn't went to Bukidnon I am still happy because my family came here we celebrate with joy and happiness.

                   MY NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS

I've experience many challenges in the pass 2013  I am  so depress in my studies, family and friends.Maybe it is because of time pressure,I can't manage my responsibilities together with my studies and I  neglect my happiness  to focused on my studies but despite of that I  have also happy memories that I can't forget  memories with my family and friends happy memories like  the day during the graduation  of my younger brother and birthday of my mother  we are together with  my brothers, sister and my parents to celebrate that day and also during my birthday my friends surprise me with their gifts. FS 3 TECHNOLOGY IN THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Learning Activity 1: The Schools Learning Resources

Name of FS Student:  Ruviejen Prama Gregore
Course: BSED MATH 3V
Cooperating School: Camaman-an Elementary School

                                  List of available learning resources
 AVAILABLE LEARNING  RESOURCES
 CHARACTERISTICS  AND           UNIQUE FEATURES
TEACHING APPROACHES     WHERE THE RESOURCES ARE MOST  USEFUL
 Print Resources

Xerox Machine
Computers

Strengths

  • Well-planned and worded print material:
    • is visible and  informative
    • can reach large numbers of people
    • allows people time to digest information and return to it for future reference when needed
    • provides flexibility to meet
    • individual needs.

Weaknesses

  • generally a one-way communication method which does not encourage questioning, clarification or feedback. (Response or comment return slips can partly overcome this problem)
  • requires well-planned distribution methods to ensure it reaches the target group and is read by them
  • must compete strongly for the reader's interest against the mass of printed items already in existence
  • not all people read the same language! Different people respond to different writing styles, language and tone in printed material
  • may contain too much information and be written in a form that is too complex for the target group.

This are very useful for printing important lessons that cannot found in the book the teacher may print the  important lesson to all  of her/his student .
It is also useful for the teache to print the test paper, impotant document and many more.
 Audio Resources

  • megaphone
  • computers
  • Dvd player

·         can aid memory

Weaknesses
  • production costs for video material can be expensive
  • material goes out-of-date quickly
  • may require special equipment and space for viewing and listening
  • equipment will require regular servicing to minimise breakdowns
  • are inclined to 'sit on the shelf'.

This are very useful in ther programs and if there are important announcement that can get the attention of all the students.
 Non-Electronic Media Resources

  •  Bulletin board
This  media resources  can be made without the electronic media resources.
It cannot  directly get the attention of the student.

bulletin board (pinboardpin boardnoticeboard, or notice board in British English) is a surface intended for the posting of public messages, for example, to advertise items wanted or for sale, announce events, or provide information. (www.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulletin_board)

 ICT Resources

Computers
ICTs stand for information and communication technologies and are defined, for the purposes of this primer, as a “diverse set of technological tools and resources used to communicate, and to create, disseminate, store, and manage information.” [4] These technologies include computers, the Internet, broadcasting technologies (radio and television), and telephony.
In recent years there has been a groundswell of interest in how computers and the Internet can best be harnessed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of education at all levels and in both formal and non-formal settings. But ICTs are more than just these technologies; older technologies such as the telephone, radio and television, although now given less attention, have a longer and richer history as instructional tools. For instance, radio and television have for over forty years been used for open and distance learning, although print remains the cheapest, most accessible and therefore most dominant delivery mechanism in both developed and developing countries. The use of computers and the Internet is still in its infancy in developing countries, if these are used at all, due to limited infrastructure and the attendant high costs of access
IT is use in every methods of teaching in the form f power point presentation and  if it is with internet connection  the student can get information in the different resources  for their more deeper knowledge.

Impressions:I m glad to see all of their learning resources  even if it is lacking  they still take good care of their learning resources and the other student has the opportunity to use their learning resources. They are still lucky to have learning resources  because some f the school in the philippines dont have any leearning resources as well as classrooms to use.
Observer:Ruviejen Prama Gregore

YOUR ANALYSIS
How are the materials arrange? Are they classified according to their functions and characteristics?

For me their materials are not well arranged and some of their learning resources are lacking and not all of their student cannot use the learning resources. As I estimated they have almost five thousand student and their computers are more than twenty it  cannot accomudate all their students and not all of those computers are functioning .

Are the guidelines in place to facilitate access of the teachers to these resources?

Answer: The library has books but not all of the books are relevant to the learning of the students because it isthe book that the student cant use today they must prefer to use electronic media resources like computers. One of the Teacher said that the students cannot use their library all the time because she have classes and she can only open the library if she can have a vacant time.

What are the strengths of the resources?

Answer: They have learning resources like computers that has internet at least their are student that can benefit even if not all of them.Their learning resources has internet connection that they can use to search relevant informations for their learning.

What are there weaknesses? Some Learning resources are lacking and  their library needed more space and more books to use and materials to  organize their library.

What do you suggest to improve the resources?
They should address their problems in the government and if it does not work they should meet the parents of the student for their suggestion  in that way the parents can help in solving their problems

Your reflection

Which of thew materials  have caught your attention most?why?
Their computer room caught my attention most  because the color us different. They take good care of their computer room it has LCD projector and white board  for power point presentation  and it is air condition .

Which gadget/equipment are you confident to use/operate?
 Their computers.

Which equipment do you feel you need to learn more?
The LCD Projector seems to be difficult to use because it is different.

In what way do you think will you learn to operate the equipment?

Maybe because we have a limited time to look the resources of their computer room we are able to  asked them if we can try to use their LCD projector next time if we have more time we should asked them and maybe in doing research on how to operate the LCD projector that is like with them   I can learn  on how to operate their LCD.

Description of the bulletin board:Each bulletin board has a specific information according to their objectives and title.

EVALUATION
 EVALUATION
 STRENGTHS
 WEAKNESSES
 Educational Content
Bulletin boards are classroom resources where teachers post information, hang student achievements and develop homeroom themes. One of the main advantages of having bulletin boards is that they allow teachers to take advantage of functional wall space. However, before posting a bulletin board in the classroom, consider the disadvantages they pose to determine whether or not the bulletin board is right for   the  students.
Some of the content are not raleted to the purpose
 Image/color
It can attract the viewers  and highlight the main purposeof the bulletin board
sometimes the image and color are too colored and itt cannot be seen.
 Arrange of information
T he information are relevant  to the students and teachers they can refer their daily activities to the bulletin board.
Its time consuming if all the information are arrange properly if the time to put infomation in the bulletin board. are limited.
 Material use
The material strengten the bulletin board and it  can be use in a long period of time.
If the matewrials use are easily broken the bulletin board cannot be use in a long period of time.

Recommendation or suggestion for improvement:
The bulletin  board  should be take good care always and the the information that are  not needed should be through away so that it can be useful for the entire year and the other information can put in the bulletin board.

Your Analysis
Describe the board display design in terms of raising the target audience's interests.
It gives the right information for the students and it is colorful  and the design is  just right  for the readers
Every  bulletin board are arrange according to the title

Use of language in making the target audience's understanding of the information.

Creativity - A good bulletin board conveys information creatively. Creativity in a bulletin board can
include the artful arrangement of messages, the color scheme that organizes or creates a background for the
messages. Creativity draws the eye of the viewer and encourages engagement. Board designers can create a sense
of fun and importance through the use of pictures, cartoons and different eye-catching fonts and font sizes. The
boards shape may also measure creativity by the overall aesthetic appeal.
Organization - Bulletin boards can quickly degenerate into chaotic hodgepodges of overlapping and scattered
messages, post-it notes and banners. Boards will also be evaluated by how well each presents and organizes the
information. A well-organized bulletin board will present information cleanly. This criterion does not prohibit
messages and posts from overlapping, but encourages overlaps or cross-postings that clarify or draw attention to
the importance of earlier messages.
Spirit - Schools and departments  use the bulletin board to generate a sense of spirit or commitment to the
safety of employees and our worksites. Indicators of spirit can include a thoughtfully placed mascot, school
colors, logo, phrase, motto or quotation that relates to the theme and unifies the site or department.
Information – The bulletin board must contain the required information or content and entries will be based on

how well each fulfills this requirement and adheres to the theme.(http://www.slosipe.org/media/pdf/rmc/BULLETIN_CONTEST_2013.pdf
it follows the criteria mention above.

The intention of the board display.
To inform the students in their daily activities and for the teachers to know their daily schedules if their are activities.

Your suggestion.
